Current faculty members may contact VPFDD for individual consultations and advice, or in order to seek direction to the appropriate office or University policy. This includes, but is not limited to, getting guidance on specific unique situations such as those related to professional development, career and leadership opportunities, or managing a lab or a research team.
Prospective faculty members who are considering a position at Stanford may contact the office for support on questions related to dual-career or others that may factor in their consideration. Questions may be directed to the Vice Provost directly, Karen Cook, at kcook(at)stanford.edu or to the Assistant Vice Provost, Rania Sanford, at raniasanford(at)stanford.edu.
NEW! Faculty Engagement Grants (deadline: May 1)
These grants intend to support faculty interests to foster a learning climate in their classrooms and labs; increase instructor capacity to respond to student advocacy; develop engaging curriculum; and cultivate a culture of peer learning among colleagues. We will support individual or groups of faculty and/or instructors in their goals to learn more about the issues driving the recent wave of student activism and plan to be better prepared to educate and to contribute to the development of their students. Experimental, new, reflective projects or efforts within a unit/department or across units are welcome.More
