The Stanford Emeriti/ae Council will start this session with a brief overview about the Council’s role in supporting, celebrating and advocating on behalf of emeriti/ae faculty, including providing programs and resources for the Stanford Emeriti/ae Community. A panel of Stanford emeriti/ae faculty at different stages of retirement will share insights about their experiences with the retirement process, opportunities and challenges of being emeritus, how to avoid pitfalls, and advice on maintaining a sense of purpose, identity, and community. Following Q&A with the panelists, we’ll have a short reception and opportunity to connect with emeritus faculty.
