New Faculty Orientation (NFO)

New Faculty Orientation (NFO) took place on September 11, 2024.  Each year invitations are sent to new faculty members during the summer.  Provost Jenny Martinez and Matthew Snipp, vice provost for faculty advancement welcomed new assistant, associate and full professors across all Stanford schools.   The New Faculty Orientation (NFO) is an opportunity to learn about Stanford's resources and meet new colleagues.  Past agenda here.

New Faculty Orientation Resources – Online in Canvas

In addition to in-person workshops and meetings, an online New Faculty Orientation curriculum with materials and presentations from past orientations is available through Canvas. The curriculum on Canvas will be available year round for new faculty members as they join Stanford (for access to the site, contact Laurita Wheeler (laurita.wheeler@stanford.edu).

UHR Benefits Orientations for New Faculty (Online via Zoom)

University Human Resources offers benefits orientations for New Faculty online. During these workshops, new faculty members receive an overview of Stanford’s health, life and retirement savings benefits. For more information about the UHR benefits orientations for faculty members, contact the UHR service team at 877-905-2985.

Faculty at Stanford are eligible for a personal website on Stanford Sites with a yourname.people.stanford.edu URL. If you need assistance with setting up a personal website or lab website on Stanford Sites, office hours are available with Stanford Web Services (SWS).
